acupuncture
Unlock the ancient wisdom of acupuncture to restore harmony and balance within your body. By targeting specific points along the meridian pathways, acupuncture promotes the smooth flow of vital energy, facilitating the body's innate ability to heal itself. Our licensed practitioners ensure your safety and comfort throughout the process, using hair-thin needles and adhering to rigorous sterilization protocols.
-
Several thousand years ago, East Asian practitioners discovered that the body forms disharmonies as a result of the various physical and mental stresses of life. Oriental medical theory explains these disharmonies as an imbalance of opposing forces called yin and yang. This imbalance disrupts the movement of the body's vital energy (qi) along the meridian pathways, which are channels through which the body's energy is thought to flow. Acupuncture restores the smooth flow of qi. By inserting and manipulating hair-thin needles at specific points, I am able to return the body to its natural balance and promote the body's ability to heal itself.

Yes. Acupuncture is used by millions of Americans every year. Acupuncturists are required to undergo extensive education, including detailed study of human anatomy and training in Clean Needle Technique. Our acupuncturists have passed comprehensive national board examinations administered by the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA) and are licensed by the province. As required by law, they also use pre-sterilized, disposable, single-use needles to ensure your complete safety.
-
Many first-time patients are concerned that acupuncture needles will feel like hypodermic injections at the doctor’s office. They won't. Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles that you will hardly feel when inserted. When gently stimulated the needles may produce a unique sensation that Oriental medicine calls de qi. Patients often describe de qi as a heavy, achy pressure, or spreading, traveling feeling. You may also feel an "electrical" sensation moving down the meridian pathways, though this is less common. Most patients find these acupuncture sensations deeply satisfying and leave the treatment feeling relaxed both mentally and physically.

Tui na means "pushing grasping," and is a powerful form of Chinese medical bodywork. Based on the same Oriental medical principles as acupuncture, tui na seeks to improve the flow of qi through the meridian channels. Tui na is particularly effective for conditions involving muscles, tendons and joints, such as structural misalignment, orthopedic problems and sports injuries. It can also be used to treat internal diseases.

Cupping is an ancient technique, used in many cultures, in which a special cup is applied to the skin and held in place by suction. The suction draws superficial tissue into the cup, which may either be left in place or moved along the body. Cupping brings fresh blood to the area and helps improve circulation. Traditional cupping, sometimes referred to as “fire cupping," uses heat to create a vacuum-like suction inside of glass cups. In modern times, cups that use a small pump to create suction have also been introduced.

Moxibustion involves the heating of acupuncture points with smoldering mugwort herb (known as moxa). Moxibustion stimulates circulation, counteracts cold and dampness in the body, and promotes the smooth flow of blood and qi. This safe, non-invasive technique may be used alone, but it is generally used in conjunction with acupuncture treatment.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture or Acupuncture Facelift, is a non-surgical method aimed at reducing the signs of aging while promoting overall skin health. It is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and involves inserting ultra-fine needles into specific points on the face, neck, and sometimes other parts of the body. This technique is designed to stimulate the body’s healing energies (Qi) and improve blood circulation to the face.
Key Benefits Include:
Stimulates Collagen Production -The insertion of needles into the skin encourages the production of collagen, a protein essential for skin elasticity and firmness. This can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Enhances Skin Tone -By improving blood circulation to the face, it promotes a more even skin tone and can help reduce the appearance of age spots and acne scars. It also contributes to a healthier, more radiant complexion.
Reduces Puffiness - The improved circulation and lymphatic drainage can help reduce swelling and puffiness, particularly around the eyes.
Lifts and Tones Facial Muscles - Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture can help tighten the skin and strengthen the muscles of the face, potentially leading to a more youthful and lifted appearance.
Promotes Relaxation and Well-being - Like traditional acupuncture, this facial treatment can help reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being. It addresses the body's overall balance, which can have positive effects on one's appearance.
Holistic Approach - It is based on the principles of TCM, which views the body as a whole. It not only aims to improve facial aesthetics but also addresses underlying health issues that can affect the skin, such as hormonal imbalances or digestive health.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is often chosen by those looking for a natural, less invasive alternative to cosmetic surgery or injections. It requires a series of treatments to see significant results, with the added benefits of no downtime and minimal side effects.
-
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture typically involves minimal discomfort. The needles used are extremely thin, much finer than those used for regular injections or blood draws, allowing them to be inserted gently with minimal sensation. Most clients describe feeling a slight momentary prick as the needles are inserted, if they feel it at all. Some areas of the face may be more sensitive than others, leading to brief moments of discomfort, but this is generally mild and fleeting.
After the needles are in place, people often experience a sense of relaxation and well-being, similar to the effects of traditional acupuncture. It's not uncommon for clients to feel so relaxed that they fall asleep during the session. Some individuals may experience minor bruising, redness, or swelling at the needle sites, but these side effects are typically temporary and resolve on their own.
Practitioners are skilled at ensuring the process is as comfortable and pain-free as possible, using their expertise to gently insert and manipulate the needles for the best effect with minimal discomfort. For those concerned about pain or who have sensitive skin, discussing these concerns with the practitioner beforehand can help tailor the treatment to ensure maximum comfort.

subconscious imprinting technique
The Subconscious Imprinting Technique (SIT) is a holistic healing modality designed to identify and release deeply rooted emotional, mental, and physical blocks that may be contributing to various life challenges and health issues. This technique acknowledges that many of the limiting beliefs, negative patterns, and emotional traumas individuals experience are stored in the subconscious mind, influencing their behaviour, decisions, and overall well-being without their conscious awareness.
-
SIT combines elements from various disciplines, including psychology, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), traditional Chinese medicine, and energy healing, to provide a comprehensive approach to healing. The core premise of SIT is that by accessing and transforming these subconscious imprints, individuals can achieve profound and lasting changes in their health, relationships, self-esteem, and life circumstances.
It involves 3 distinct steps:
1 - Identification: The first step involves identifying the subconscious beliefs, patterns, or traumas that are causing or contributing to the individual's current issues. This is often done through dialogue, guided visualization, or muscle testing.
2 - Release: Once these subconscious imprints are identified, various techniques are employed to release them. This may involve specific breathing exercises, visualization, affirmations, or other methods designed to let go of the negative patterns and replace them with positive beliefs and emotions.
3 - Integration: The final step involves integrating these changes into the individual's consciousness and life. This might include setting new intentions, creating positive affirmations, or undertaking practices that reinforce the new, healthier patterns of thinking and being.
-
The benefits of SIT can be wide-ranging, as the technique addresses the root causes of issues rather than just treating symptoms. Some potential benefits include:
Improved Mental Health: Reduction in anxiety, depression, and stress levels.
Physical Healing: Alleviation of chronic pain, improved energy levels, and better physical health.
Emotional Well-being: Increased emotional stability, reduced fear and anger, and enhanced capacity for joy and love.
Personal Growth: Greater self-awareness, improved self-esteem, and the removal of barriers to personal development.
Improved Relationships: Better communication, increased empathy and understanding, and healthier relationship dynamics.
Because SIT works on deep-seated subconscious issues, it can complement traditional therapies and medical treatments, offering a holistic approach to healing and personal development.

REIKI
Experience the transformative power of Reiki to rejuvenate your spirit and strengthen your vitality. Reiki, a revered Japanese healing technique, serves as a conduit for divine energy, fostering a sanctuary of peace and restoration within you. By channeling universal life force energy through gentle, hands-on practices, our skilled practitioners work to enhance your body's natural resilience.
-
Reiki translated into English literally means “divine energy”. Rei meaning divine, spirit or soul and Ki meaning vital energy or consciousness. Reiki is a Japanese technique used for stress reduction, which produces a calming effect over the body, promoting healing on every level of the being. A hands-on technique is used to funnel universal energy to the person receiving treatment to help boost their own life force energy. If one's life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, health and happiness are more easily accessible.
The best analogy for what Reiki is and how it can help in your life is imagining your car battery dies (pretty easy to imagine in Alberta where it’s cold). Typically when this happens, you get some jumper cables and attach them to a friend’s car. Then, you attach those cables to your car in order to boost your battery and get it running again. This is essentially how Reiki works. Your life force battery is down (energy running low) and needs a boost so the universal energy is coming from “your friend’s car” with the Reiki practitioner being the jumper cables to transmit it to you.
-
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit.
-
Reiki has been known to have positive effects on heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean blood pressure, cardiac vagal tone, cardiac sensitivity to baroreflex, skin temperature and respiration rate.
-
Take a big breath in and then exhale it out. Take a big breath in and exhale as you repeat the following: “Today only, do not anger, do not worry. With thankfulness, work diligently, be kind to others, including myself”. Take a big breath in and then exhale it out. Take a big breath in and exhale it out repeating the precept again. Do this sequence of breaths with the precept 3X every morning as a beautiful way to start your day.
